The Italian Multiplier Event was organized on April the 21st 2023 in the framework of the “Caregiver Days”, a Regional event taking place every year around the month of May to promote the role and challenges of informal carers and to share projects and interventions proven useful to support them. Because of this, the event had the patronage of Emilia Romagna Regional Government and Emilia Romagna Health Care Service Executive.
The event was titled “Promoting the resilience of informal carers through narration – Sincala project final event” and was implemented as follows:
Session 1 – The Sincala project
• Rebecca Vellani, psychologist from ANS, introduced the issue of care burden, its possible impacts and consequences and how it can be prevented through methods based on narration and self-reflection
• Licia Boccaletti, who coordinated the Sincala project on behalf of ANS, presented the project, its rationale and outputs
• Anna Masucci, social worker from ANS, presented the activities that ANS implements to support informal carers and how Sincala outputs can be incorporated in them
• Testimony from an informal carer who attended the SINCALA workshop
Session 2 – other experiences based on narration
• Laura Pasini, psychologist, presented the experience of an online mutual-aid support group for informal carers
• Sabina Tarozzi, presented the experience of a peer-support group and other activities to support working carers implemented in the framework of a corporate social responsibility initiative
